just another day...
so i was looking around the internet the other day, and i discovered that this is where to go, if you want to express your inner geek.
i think they made this just for me.
i've gotten into the habit of making vocabulary lists for myself.
is weird, yes?
i know, what am i, in grade school?
well, no, but i think it's a rather fun thing to do, and it helps to keep my own speech from being overly boring and entirely monotonous.
soooo, the word for today is klaxon
is cool word, yes?
see if you can use it in a sentence!
gonna tell ya a story. a true story, about one of the female sibling units — the wannabe nurse critter — the one that recently started smoking even...
she went to the doctor the other day, yearly physical or something like that.
keep in mind, she already knew she had a heart murmur.
now, through no fault of her own of course, it's a lot worse.
guess what the good doctor told her...
she's only 21 years old.
to look at her, you would probably think that she was in very good health... she's not over weight, and her diet isn't all that bad (though me being a vegetabletarian, i think it could be better).
she's also one of the more active people i know...
she can blame the parental units for defective genes i suppose, not that it'll do much good.
she's still in school, working a job, got her whole entire life-mess ahead of her.
or not.
life's a big pile of poo, then you die. hopefully not anytime soon, but you never know...
wasn't that a great story?
while i told her from the beginning that smoking was silly, icky, and just plain dumb, she never listened.
honestly, i don't know if her smoking is what triggered anything, but it's always a possibility.
and with everything else that has happened to her, i wouldn't count it out.
though how someone who obsesses over how they look, smell, and how white their teeth are can even consider smoking is beyond me.
and i'm quite thankful for that.
i can think of several reasons why someone would smoke, use alcohol and/or drugs, but i can honestly say that none of those things have ever appealed to me.
i've always felt that certain things in life can make you stronger. if nothing else, you could consider them to be learning experiences. perhaps at some point you could pass on what you've learned to someone else. in turn, they could hopefully avoid anything unpleasant that would have otherwise occurred. (wasn't that just the wordiest?)
-sigh-
i have a feeling that she's going to do something really stupid.
well, more stupid than usual, that is.
watch out for crazy, crying people lil' blog, especially when they're driving!
i think they made this just for me.

guess what the good doctor told her...
- she has to stop smoking, immediately.
- she's most likely going to have to have open heart surgery to have a heart valve replaced.
- she can't work double shifts at the nursing home place anymore.
- she has to follow a rather specific exercise program.
- she can never have children.
- etc., etc., etc.

Urmm.. not such a fun 'sister' bloggie. :(
I've always been amazed at people who start smoking past the age of 20. By then you'd think they would not only know better, but that they would also no longer experience such intense peer pressure.
It would be even better if the 'No one reads my blog' tshirt came with the option to put your URL in the back. :)
