got crayons?
i was wandering around the internet the other day, looking for a good pic of seamonkey-tan, so i could make a better desktop icon... and ended up at ostan-collections.net.
they have a surprisingly large amount of art work that doesn't suck.
unfortunately, i only found one pic of seamonkey-tan. isn't that sad?
any who, i made my way to the gallery for 2k-tan, the mascot for my very own operating system, and happened to find some very good black and white line art... one of which i downloaded and then colored. go me.
i was previously unaware that there was so much interest in operating system mascots. oh well, browse and learn i guess.
in related news, i recently discovered a program that i believe will allow me to create good line art from hand-drawn sketches.
isn't that nice?
it's not that i haven't tried other programs that might work, it's just that most of them i found to be highly annoying.
if you have any suggestions on good (and hopefully cheap) programs for creating line art, let me know!
just keep in mind that the program has to be of the vector variety, and it needs to export files that can be opened with photoshop.
not much else to say, as i've been exceedingly boring these past few years.
be good little blog!

looks older in the coloured version. i think it's the thicker lips.
I wanted to take a drawing/painting course in college, but i knew i sucked at anything creative, so i didn't bother.
ever consider getting work with a cartoon company or a videogame company? most videogames require more artists than programmers, you know. :)
yeah... well, i'm not much for programming, but i do love to color things. hopefully i'm getting better the more i practice. (if by some miracle i ever get a graphics tablet, i think i'll have a lot more fun.)
after seeing some of the things that the female sibling unit mark_2 is required to do for her "graphics design" degree, i'm more than certain that an alternate source of education will be necessary to actually get a job in her newly chosen field.
i'm not sure i would want to work for a company that creates anime/manga... or even games.
the potential for me to become jaded because of employers or fellow employees is rather high.
sad, really.
:)
Nice colouring job. I have an artist friend and asked him if its with a tablet that he colours with or with paints. He said tablets the way to go and that paint is too expensive and also messy! I couldn't help but notice MS learking in the background. If it's not Google watching you, its MS!
thanks. :)
she happens to be the mascot for my operating system... which happens to be from micr0s0ft.
lah.
graphic tablets are nifty (wish i had one... maybe one day).
no updates in 3 months.
lah.
is true...
and too too sad.
:)
